An Arts Council Committee has been at work since early spring organizing the popular family concerts and children’s programs that take place during Arts Week on Medina’s Public Square and at Brunswick’s Rec Center.
Arts Week concerts and programs lead up to the highly anticipated Art-in-the-Park.Medina County Art League’s widely known and juried art show and sale takes place on Public Square in Medina and draws thousands of visitors from all over northeast Ohio. This year’s Art-in-the-Park will be held on July 18.
Also this year, two additional programs funded by the Arts Council will also be scheduled for Mill Stream Park in Valley City and J.B. Firestone Park in Spencer. The committee is chaired by Jim Gilder in Medina and Barb McGreer in Brunswick. Other committee members are Michele Cotner, Roger Smalley, Judith Parish, Dan Hostetler, and Nancy Sprowls. All programs are free.
For information about Arts Week events, call The Medina County Convention and Visitors Bureau at 330-722-5502.
In the fall of 1982, a committee of Medina County residents laid the groundwork for a county-wide arts council that would serve as an umbrella organization to provide information and support for the arts organizations in the county. It is governed by a Board of Trustees elected by the membership. These trustees include artists, business people, and individuals committed to promoting the arts in Medina County. Test.
