Medina Community Band will present their fifth concert for the 2023 Summer Gazebo Series on Tuesday, July 4th, at 8:30 p.m., in the Gazebo on the Medina Public Up-town Park Square. The ice cream social will be sponsored by Medina Breakfast Kiwanis Club.
A special welcome to the concert will be presented by Medina County Commissioner Stephen Hambley.
Featured cornet soloist will be North Canton resident Kevin Wallick performing Herbert L. Clarke’s From the Shores of the Mighty Pacific, Medina resident, Andrew Tatman performing Arthur Pryor’s tuba solo Blue Bells of Scotland.
Featured instrumental ensemble will be Mary Ann Grof-Neiman (clarinet) and Amy Muhl (flute) playing Léo Delibes Flower Song (from Lakmé).
Associate conductor Dr. Darren LeBeau will conduct Robert Russell Bennett’s Schottische from his Suite of Old American Dances, Galop from Genevieve de Brabant, and John Philip Sousa’s march The National Game.
The concert will open with an audience request for John Williams’ Indiana Jones Selection. A patriotic salute to our veterans and service personnel with John Philip Sousa’s marches Riders of the Flag and Stars and Stripes Forever; the Carmen Dragon arrangement of America, the Beautiful; Robert Lowden arrangement of the Armed Forces Salute; and Irving Berlin’s God Bless America.
A reminder – there will be no concert on Friday, June 30th!
